Lake Monger Cleanup 12 May 2007 9am -12 noon

About 50 committed Lake Monger lovers cleared mountains of rocks, bricks and rubble from most of the lake's shoreline along Lake Monger Drive. This will prevent further infected injury to the black swans feet.

Young and old, locals as well as those from further afar. One family came from Forrestfield. Some dropped in for an hour or so; others stayed the duration. It is amazing what we can achieve together!

Afterwards we celebrated our achievement with a BBQ.

  • Malubillai Wildlife Carers Network who alerted us to the swans problems

  • Emma Donnelly at Keep Australia Beautiful Council who helped us overcome bureaucratic obstacles and manage risks effectively

  • Bunnings Innaloo which donated a huge bag of protective gloves and wheelbarrows (thanks, Natalie Amos)

  • Town of Cambridge for providing 3 skips -thanks, Ross Bowman

How else can our community help Lake Monger and its wildlife? What do you think?
